GNSS & GSE Labs

Resembling a frame out of a sci-fi movie, GNSS & SE Labs were built for the purpose of Space research as well as Global Navigation. GNSS and Space Education Research Lab (GSERL) is dedicated to produce cutting edge research outputs and human resource capacity building in the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems and space. Situated in IST Islamabad, this futuristic space stands out due to its function and its treatment in terms of materials and fixtures.

The space incorporates circular and oval shapes in design in the form of ceiling details and furniture; this helps take away from the linearity of the space and brings about movement as the eye travels across the area. The walls incorporate grey PVC panels, while the tables are Toped with silver checkered Metal sheets, both of which bring out a very technical aspect to the space which was the eventual goal. The addition of a hologram wall creates further interest in the space while also closely keeping the general theme in mind.

The overall design allows this ‘space’ to stand out as a marvel of its time.
