AZ ARCADE
N estled in the commercial square of the AWT Housing society, this mix-use building stands out against the mostly barren landscape of the area. With a covered area of 2884 square feet, the building harbors commercial, corporate and residential activity, all spread out on four floors.
The ground and basement contain retail shops, the first-floor houses offices and the second floor perfectly tuck in a singular apartment in its four walls. The three-side elevation of the edifice opens out serene views to all exterior-facing sides of the building, creating connectivity between the indoors and the outdoors through massive windows and curtain walls. The cube massing of the building gives the illusion of stacked floors to the already intriguing façade and the use of travertine helps earth the building, while the charcoal accents help bring about a sense of movement to the elevation.
This low-rise mix-use building successfully encapsulates a modern and energy efficient approach to design and perfectly symbolizes the vision of Architects’ Cube.
