This 9500 square feet residence, situated in Bahria Enclave, Islamabad, showcases the perfect blend of classical and modern design, without one overpowering the other.

The subtractive approach to design gives way to the presence of double heighted arch-ways and windows which serve as primary elements of the façade. At first glance, it seems as though the building is cladded with one singular material - namely travertine – but that is only an illusion. The use of different materials in similar tones adds interest to the minimalist skin of the building as the eye shifts from one texture to the next. The interior includes Spanish patterns which are present in the flooring and in the metal screens seen throughout the residence. The inverted arches placed inside the house are an effortless echo of the elevation, bringing together the house as a whole. The view from the back side opens out to an array of pine trees which can be seen from the veranda placed on the lower ground.

All in all, this house is a unique example of how the indoors seamlessly merge with the outdoors, while also incorporating ornamental elements of design such as the black metallic screens that stand out against the lightness of the beige façade.
