173 C, Rustic Fusion Farmstead
This brick and plaster house exudes a certain warmth about it which welcomes one with open arms. Perched in the midst of PN farms, this villa is spread out on an area of 9,500 square ft. The archways that frame views to the superseding arched windows create perfect vistas for viewing the lush garden which is a key element of this house. The wooden pergolas present throughout the house sit perfectly amidst the red of the brick and the ashy white of the plaster. This house is planned over multiple axes which adds a certain depth to it and creates little nooks of privacy for each space. The addition of perforated brick walls calls for the presence of semi-private spaces and add an element of permeability to the façade. The glass passageway that connects two of the cubes in the house effortlessly creates a veranda which beautifully captures views of the garden which at certain points, seamlessly seeps into the house. The interior spaces echo the same materials as the exterior, with the use of brick, terracotta and dark-toned wood alongside accents of turquoise in the doors and stairways. A couple of rooms also make use of stenciled paint texture which perfectly complements the repetitive pattern of the brick. This modern cottage-like house is nothing short of a design marvel and the surrounding landscape allows the built form stand out even more.
