116, Moden Spanish Villa
C omprising on an area of 7200 square feet, this Neo-Classical house in D-18, Islamabad is the perfect example of subtle grandeur. Though a bit diverging from our usual style, this project gave us the opportunity to play with the specific design brief with a new approach and we were pleasantly surprised with the result.
The cream-like texture of the travertine used on the elevation works seamlessly in contrast with the darkness of th pitched roof, giving the overall form somewhat of a modern Gothic touch. It can be noted that the white window frames pair well with the jet-black metallic grills present in the railings, the balconies and the main gate. This residence includes an array of balconies and deck areas which give the house a three-dimensional look and of course, effortlessly connect the indoor spaces with the outdoor environment. More than just a design element, the pitched roof serves the purpose of privacy for the rooftop which is a perfect place for hosting BBQs in the cold winter months.
With its muted hues and complimentary elements of design, this house stands tall in all its glory and gives the viewer a fond glimpse of the past.
